About
I´m an independent researcher based in Stavanger, Norway. I work as a freelance translator, writer, and teacher of creative writing/A-Level psychology.
I also teach academic writing workshops and am affiliated with the Network for Gender Studies at the University of Stavanger. In spring 2012, I will be module leader and co-lecturer for Gender, Society and Culture (Kjønn, samfunn og kultur) at the University of Stavanger.
I have previously (2003-2007) TA-ed and lectured at the School of Fine Art, History of Art & Cultural Studies at the University of Leeds in the following modules: Introduction to Cultural Analysis I & II, Reading Barthes, Reading Freud Reading, and Reading Sexual Difference.
I did my PhD on the rather "hot" topic of breasts (see "Papers" for abstract), and passed my viva in June 2007. Dr Eric Prenowitz was the internal examinor and the external examinor was Prof Patricia Duncker.
In October 2010 I received a grant to turn my thesis into a book and can finally proceed with this project in the course of 2011-12.
I am a member of the Prospective Breast Cancer Biobank Study (PBCB), a collaborative medical research project between Bergen University Hospital (Haukeland) and Stavanger University Hospital (SUS).
